ZINCALUME® or COLORBOND® steel Farm Sheds?

  12 August 2014

Our steel farm sheds are made in Australia at over 20 manufacturing plants from quality BlueScope steel. This means when it comes to your walls, roof, doors and trim, you have the option of either ZINCALUME® or COLORBOND® steel. But what's the difference?

ZINCALUME® Steel
ZINCALUME® steel is most commonly used for rural sheds, as it is the least expensive out of the two. This cost saving if because ZINCALUME® steel's finish is the traditional steel look. ZINCALUME® steel is an enhanced galvanised product that was developed by BlueScope Steel, and has a lifespan of almost four times that of any other galvanised steel product.

COLORBOND® Steel
COLORBOND® steel adds colour to your rural steel building and property. COLORBOND® steel has an added conversion layer to enhance adhesion, a polyester primer is then added to the surface and an exterior grade paint is baked on for extra durability.

Both steel types are extremely durable and are made to withstand the tough Australian climate. it really comes down to your preference and budget as to which cladding product you choose.

The Sheds n Homes range of farm sheds for sale and rural buildings are customisable in terms of length, span, height and bay sizes, plus we offer a range of optional extras. All sheds are engineered to site specific, to ensure the building is not over or under-engineered for your site. Call 1800 764 764.
