What is a Shouse?

A "shouse" or "shouse home" is another word for a "shed house". Most of our portal frame sheds can be designed as livable sheds (subject to council approval), often referred to as a shouse, or shed house.

This is exactly what our Gympie team did for this project. For added flare, the personal access door is featured in a striking modern timber and we added in a classic glass sliding door and windows.

The skillion roof is a design feature itself, enhanced with Manor Red® trimmings. I'd be proud to call this my home.

Cost Effective Shed Homes

A shed home or shouse is a cost effective and versatile style of housing that can be used in a variety of ways, for example as a granny flat or additional housing space in an existing home or as a form of short to medium term accommodation on an existing piece of land.

One of the biggest advantages of shouse homes is their affordability. Traditional homes can be expensive and time intensive to build, especially if you want to customise the design.

In addition, since shouse homes are typically smaller than traditional homes, they require less maintenance and have lower utility bills. This makes them an excellent option for those who want to save money on their housing expenses

Highly Versatile

Another benefit of shouse homes is their versatility. Sheds come in all shapes and sizes, which means that shouse homes can be designed to fit any need. Whether you want a small granny flat or addition to an existing home or a fully size family home, shouse homes can be customized to meet your specific requirements.

Additionally, they are ideal for those who want to live off the grid or in remote or regional areas.
